Today’s Resistance: I donated to the ACLU (https://action.aclu.org). Today, their lawyers worked tirelessly to release individuals detained because of POTUS’ latest executive orders. Less than an hour ago, federal judges issued a stay on the bans, at the behest of ACLU lawyers. Make no mistake, this a victory for the Resistance. But it wouldn’t be possible without the incredible public support that has, as of writing, crashed their site. Make a donation, in whatever capacity you can. It matters.
Donations are being matched by a variety of folks via twitter. Search “receipts” on twitter, and send a screenshot of your receipts to those matching.
Additional places to give that are being matched: International Rescue Committee (https://www.rescue.org) Council on American Islamic Relations (https://www.cair.com) Narional Immigration Law Center (https://www.nilc.org)
Last thing: NYC taxis today showed their mettle when they boycotted the airport. Uber is being called out for not doing. Airbnb is providing free housing to those detained. This is how companies should be acting.
