Today’s Resistance: Today was about supporting the things POTUS hates in small ways.
Today I bought “March: Volume 1” by John Lewis, in print. I had previously bought it digitally but figured I needed to see the “real” thing. For those unfamiliar, March is a comic/graphic novel written by and about Congressman John Lewis, regarding his growing up in rural Alabama, meeting Dr. King, his involvement in the Civil Rights movement, and his journey to Congressman. It’s a fantastic read and represents everything that POTUS wishes to silence. Please go out and buy it, preferably from a local comic/bookstore such as The Comix Gallery in Wilmette, Illinois. The man who runs it, Verne, is a vocal advocate of women, POC, and LGBTQ+ being more present in the industry and the content. He carries books by and about these groups and has been recognized as having a shop that is safe for women and children readers. Verne also represents that which POTUS wishes to silence.

POTUS Today: Yet another busy day for the MOTUS (Megalomaniac of the United States)
He signed two executive orders during a visit to the Department of Homeland Security. The first of these called for the construction of his wall on the border with Mexico. The second reinstates the Secure Communities Program, which ICE uses to target undocumented immigrants for removal. Additionally, it allows the State Department to withhold visas to get countries to take back deported undocumented immigrants and strips federal money from sanctuary cities that harbor undocumented immigrants.
MOTUS also commented on “enhanced interrogation techniques” (fantastic marketing on the intelligence community’s part, honestly) a.k.a. TORTURE, saying he was in support of bringing it back.
He also promised to launch an investigation into completely made up widespread and rampant voter fraud. Because…why not.
